Hollywood's favourite couple Monica and Chandler Bing are reportedly heading for the divorce courts after just six years of marriage.
The couple have two adopted children, Erica and Jack and a foster child the same age as themselves, Joey, who is mentally challenged and needs constant care. We last saw the Bings four years ago when they moved out of their apartment in Manhattan to live in a spacious house in Brooklyn. The couple's move prompted the end of an era.
Rumours circulating around the 'wood suggest the split is due to Chandler's affair with his old flame Janice. Chandler denied any third party involvement in the split simply saying he was sick and tired of Monica's obsessive cleanliness "I knew I'd had enough when I found her vacuuming the garden and ironing the towels." Said Chandler "I mean, it just wasn't funny anymore."
"I'll tell you what's not funny anymore!" Monica retorted in a screechy voice "Chandler's stupid jokes that's what!"
Since the split Monica has been seen out and about with her ex-boyfriend Richard, who is the spitting image of Magnum PI, only younger.
Friends of the couple, Rachel and Ross, are devastated by the news "I don't know what's going to happen if those two go their separate ways. I mean, those two are the glue that holds this group together, know what I mean?"
Rachel and Ross are still going strong four years and four children later despite being "on a break" last year. Rumours about Rachel dating Brad Pitt during the break are reportedly unfounded.
Sadly, Phoebe's husband Mike was killed in a badminton accident last year, though he appears to have popped up in several blockbuster movies since then and friends wonder if the accident was staged.
Susan and Carole are still lesbians and recently clashed with Miss California over her controversial remarks at the Miss USA beauty pageant.
The famous café where the friends used to hang out, Central Perk, closed down earlier this year after Gunther was sued for sexual harassment of an employee and lost his license to serve caffeine products. Gunther, however, denied any wrong-doing and claimed his café was just another victim of the recession. Only friends know the truth.
Joey's mental condition continues to deteriorate. He is 39.
