The BBC was today reeling from another scandal involving Johnathon Ross when it was revealed that a guest would be appearing on his show who didn't have a CD/book/DVD/TV show to sell!
This unprecedented step, previously unheard of in 12 years of Ross' Friday night shows, is sure to rock the very foundations of the 'chat show circuit', and experts predict that if the new format became popular with the viewing public, stars would have to resort to old-fashioned ways to self-promote, such as paying for advertising on a commercial channel.
Ricky Gervais was unavailable for comment last night, as he is in America promoting the DVD release of 'Ghost Town' (available all good shops £14.99).
