The BBC, in a bid to cut overheads is using old material, but including Jade Goody as an enticement for a younger audience, or fans of car-crash television, or wife swap. Oddie said: 'Personally, I have never heard of Jade Goody. I am led to understand that she is a demonstrative version of the by now widely seen archetype The Greater Spotted Celebrity. Personally, I would have preferred to have worked with kate Humble, or Michaela Strachan, but beggars can't be choosers'.
Oddie was last seen on TV, trying to learn Guitar.
