Recently, best selling author J.K. Rowling announced that the Dumbledore character in her best selling Harry Potter books is gay, shocking many fans of the popular series. But apparently, Rowling has more light to shed on gay characters in childrens' fiction.
On her website, the millionaire author has posted a list of other fictional characters that have been trapped in the closet, which should raise a few eyebrows in the children's literary community.
Among the characters on the list is Dr. Seuss's well known feline, the Cat In The Hat who according to Rowling "behaves in a flamboyant manner, carries an oversized bag, and has a thing for hats."
Winnie The Pooh, the "silly old bear" from A.A. Milne's collection of books was also outed by Rowling because of his "strong emotional bond with his friend Piglet."
Piglet also made the list.
Other famous characters named by Rowling include the Tin Man from the Wizard Of Oz, The Man In The Yellow Hat From Curious George, and pretty much everyone from Alice In Wonderland.
