20th Century Fox Television executive producer, Tris Orendorff, announced today that there is a new reality show in the wings. It is called Celebrity Flappers and it debuts on Thursday, June 3, 2004 at 9:00 EDT.
"It is the perfect summertime entertainment vehicle," said Mr. Orendorff, "We expect to grab major market share with it. It will also give twenty amateurs national TV exposure."
The concept is simple: Twenty young, single females are stranded on an exotic island with one sewing needle, a spool of thread and a bolt of leather apiece. The fun starts when they are asked to produce a garment before sundown. Each episode features a different male celebrity who has five seconds to attempt to cause a "wardrobe manfunction." Four unlucky ladies are voted off at the end of each episode.
He denied rumors that the concept was based on the half-time fiasco at the Superbowl, earlier this year. However, he also hinted that Justin Timberlake may be the bodice ripping pop-star on the final show.
