Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, in an apparent effort to gain favor with the west, has been taped playing a small role in the hit comedy series "My Name is Earl."
Ahmadinejad will appear as the temperamental Italian chef "Luigi" and have two lines in a restaurant scene to air later this fall.
The lines "Where's the mayonnaise?" and "Mamma Mia, that's one spicy pizza!" were delivered competently enough, according to insiders, who report the Iranian leader was fairly pleasant to work with but did try to add lines to his part.
His suggested line "Scuza me, but that pizza is so burned it shouldn't exist, much like the State of Israel" was vetoed by the show's producers.
