(Hollywood) -- Yesterday afternoon the widow and adult children of Mr. H. Dumpty, late of Brentwood, filed suit seeking damages from The King's Horses, The King's Men, et al. alleging (1) failure to put the decedent, Mr. Dumpty, back together again, (2) compensatory damages for loss of consortium and (3) punitive damages for pain, suffering, and emotional distress.
While admitting that there is no duty to rescue, no so-called Good Samaritan statute in effect, Plaintiffs allege that once a rescue is undertaken, there attaches a duty of due care which duty was negligently breached in this case.
None of the King's spokespeople were available for comment. One judicial source dismissed the basis of the suit as "a fairy tale." Palace insiders, however, acknowledged that certain Royals appeared to have egg on their faces at press time.
