San Jose Radio Station Revises Playlist

Funny story written by Kirby Hancock

San Jose, CA - Classic Rock radio station KFOX, 98.5 on the FM dial, today announced a new playlist consisting entirely of two songs: "Sweet Home Alabama" by Lynyrd Skynrd, and "Werewolves of London" by Warren Zevon.

According to a statement issued by station manager Yang Phat Dung, the change was strictly a cost-cutting move.

"Good music costs money" Dung told an audience of 3 or 4 guys packed into the station's studio beneath a parking garage in downtown San Jose. "Hell, we already play those 2 songs so often that our listeners probably won't notice. Besides, now we'll have more time for mattress commercials and news about gay people coming out."

No word yet from other area Classic Rock stations on plans for similar moves, but expert industry observers expect Bay Area rival 107.7 "The Bone" to unveil a musical format dominated by 2 songs from Queen and 2 from The Eagles.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
