HOLLYWEIRD, CA -- Wearing a red wig and a prosthetic fish "tail," complete with scales, Emma Watson will appear topless as the mermaid Ariel in Walt Disney's The Little Mermaid.

Titter accounts have "gone viral" in tittering about their idol's latest role.

"I always knew there was something fishy about her," co-star Daniel Radcliffe, who will play Prince Eric, tittered, "but I thought it was just her vagina."

"I'd like to debone her," a "fan" tittered.

Watson said she became interested in the film when she learned that her undersea palace would include, among its ramparts, a tower shaped like a phallus. The movie's set designer refers to the castle as Ariel's "phallus palace."

"I've always wanted a penis of my own," the actress explained. "That's why I'm marrying Jay Barrymore, who" she insists, "is not related--repeat not related--to [actress] Drew Barrymore."

Seen leaving an aquatics facility in Los Angeles last week, Watson admitted that she is taking "swimming lessons" to "prepare" for her role as Ariel.

"I'm good at the breaststroke," she confessed, "but, otherwise, I swim like a rock."

Her fish's tail is modeled on that of a plaster cast of the stuffed carcass of one of the dolphins who portrayed Flipper in the television series of that name that aired during the 1960s. Originally, the costume designer wanted "to go with a shark," Watson said, "but I'm not that kind of a girl."

She also insisted that there be no role for Sebastian the crab or any other such crustacean. "I wouldn't do it," she said, "if I had to have crabs."
