NEW YORK CITY - Paula Deen flew to New York City from her Southern mansion in Savannah, Georgia to do a bit of damage control.
The Southern cooking show maven appeared on The Viagra View with Regis Philbin and Larry King.
According to American Spotlight Magazine Deen has been accused by her maid JaBreezy Lola Smiggle, 43, of using the dreaded "N" word.
Ms. Smiggle said that the incident occured during the course of Miss Paula telling her to be careful when she dusts and polishes the commemorative Civil War sword that belonged to General Nathan Bedford Forrest.
General Forrest is the infamous Confederate general who is credited with creating the Ku Klux Klan.
The 66-year-old Deen told Larry King that the sword was given to her great grandfather Beauregard "Bubba" Chickabiddy and that she did not even know who General Forrest was until her maid told her.
Deen let King know that she did use an "N" word when she was talking to her maid, but quickly added that the word was negligent.
SIDENOTE: Paula Deen told King that it is all just a big misunderstanding and she has fired the trouble making maid who worked for her for 24 years. She then smiled and pointed out that she has donated $2,000 towards Michelle Obama's White House Christmas Party Fund.
