Appearing on the Graham Norton show to promote new film Rock of Ages, Essex boy Russell Brand blasted the Irish chat show for making his mum cry, after Norton asked about the fellow comics failed marriage to singer Katy Perry.
Brand said that Norton making his mother cry was 'unacceptable' and Norton apologised immediately in scenes that were cut from the final footage.
A BBC insider leaked information last night to Gaga Radio entertainment desk "Norton was just doing his job asking a question that was on everyone's lips. Brandy Pandy seems to have taken offence that his mother was upset - yet 4 years ago Brand and Norton's predecessor Jonathan Ross made a phone call to Andrew Sachs and and left a message saying Brand had 'f***ed his granddaughter' on his answer phone! And just for good measure, he also went on stage at an award ceremony 5 years ago saying he'd 'had a go on Rod Stewarts daughter' when Rod was in the audience. It seems when Rustycocks own family are affected he takes a different view"
