Actress Nina Dobrev has threatened to quit the CW hit show, The Vampire Diaries, if she has to shoot another kissing scene with Ian Somerhalder. Despite all the online rumors that claim Nina and Ian are dating, Nina Dobrev set the record straight today during a press conference in Atlanta.
After reporters bombarded her with questions about the possibility of an upcoming Damon and Elena romance on The Vampire Diaries, Nina Dobrev emphatically confirmed that she would rather quit the show than kiss her costar Ian Somerhalder again.
"I don't care how much fans whine about Damon and Elena getting together," Nina snapped. "It's not going to happen. The kissing scene at the end of 'The New Deal' episode was a one time thing and that was that."
When asked if it was true that she and Ian were dating offscreen, Nina rolled her eyes in disgust and assured reporters that, "It was all a publicity stunt to help Ian raise money for the damn turtles or whatever the hell other animals he's trying to save."
"It's so revolting," Nina added. "First I had to put up with Paul Wesley slobbering all over my face. Then it was Taylor Kinney. After that it was Ian Somerhalder. Next thing I know, the writers will want me to go all Flowers in the Attic with Jeremy! It's just too gross."
So will Nina stick around for a fourth season of The Vampire Diaries or is she ready to move on to bigger and better things? "I'm ready for Hollywood," she proclaimed with her chipmunk smile. "I mean the real Hollywood, as in a big budget summer movie with an all-star cast. I'm tired of small-time projects. My family in Bulgaria wants to see me accepting an Oscar for best actress or something like that."
When asked if there was a specific celeb she'd like to work with for a change, her answer was: "If David Duchovny wants to do a remake of Red Shoe Diaries, tell him I'm down."
