Kentucky Fried Chicken is dropping its 50 year old slogan - 'Finger Lickin Good' with the simple 'So Good' in a move to improve its image.
Head of Operations in UK & Ireland explained that licking fingers was an environmental hazard.
'How can we know where our customers have been putting their dirty fingers before they suck them? They may have been having a pee or scratching their arses - we just don't know. Our new awareness of health issues means licking is no way to deal with fast food. The exciting slogan So Good makes more sense.'
However Fred Crumble, a long time fan of KFC, told me that Finger Lickin Good but whatsomething he went to bed with every night. He would not feel comfortable with the weak So Good.
A demonstration of people dressed as chickens has been reported outside the KFC in Scotland Yard. Advance notice from their mole among the anti-KFC extremists meant the Police carefully controlled the demonstrators. Demonstrator Basil Brush crowed about the turnout: 'If this doesn't make KFC think again we will have to increase the pressure by breaking a few eggs.'
Clucker, the new internet communicator, is spreading the campaign's message worldwide and KFC may be toppled in a dramatic demonstration of bird power.
