The downgrading of Greece to Junk Status has attracted the attention of a waste management company, who are considering a takeover bid for the country.
A spokesman said that "We operate wherever junk and waste are plentiful and Greece would be an ideal candidate for our long term portfolio."
It is understood that some German companies who were considering a rival bid have pulled out after looking at the books.
"We have concerns that the business will need more capital injection than our shareholders are willing to provide," said Angela Smirkel chairwoman of Germany Plc.
No Greek spokesmen were available for comment as they were all in Cyprus transferring assets to banks outside the country
