Tokyo - (Hari Kari Mess): The Japanese royal family has gone bust after bent 'bedding' trader Kazutsugi Nami, dubbed Tokyo's very own Bernard Madoff Ponzi scam maestro -went down the swanee for $1.4bn.
Emperor Akishit-Ho was L&G Investments CEO Kazutsugi Nami's top customer despite being repeatedly warned that the 'investment' company was actually trading in matresses.
"What the hell, Nami pays 36%, more than good enough for Puppet Chrysanthemum Throne!" an Imperial courtier commented last year in spite of reports that the L&G bedding company was really an euphemism for 'stashing the dosh under the matress'.
Nami, 75, is thought to have swindled more than 37,000 clients including all the Yamato Puppet Dunasty.
"Of course he's just a very junior partner of the global Madoff Ponzi scam," an Interpol source said today.
"We're just waiting for news of Madoff's next tentacle going belly up," the police spoeksman added.
"Eat your heart out the Vatican Bank."
