It has been confirmed that a Comedian will replace Tubbs from the League of Gentlemen-lookalike Mervyn King as the Governor of the Bank of England.
In a surprise move the Chancellor announced the unknown Comedian as the new head, before adding that he was an "outstanding central wanker".
After the scandals of the Libor-rate fixing, bank bailouts and the credit crisis it is believed the Chancellor and his aides have decided to put their faith in light entertainers to take control of the nation's finances.
A source close to a source who is closer to a really close source to the Chancellor remarked, "Well we're already up the shitter and harbinger of doom Mervyn doesn't exactly brighten things up, so it was thought we may as well have a good giggle from our Governor, in between being told we're financially screwed of course."
Jimmy Carr is also being lined up for an elite position at HMRC.
