Gordon Brown has surprised Olympic bosses by turning down an invite to the spectacular opening ceremony.
He was asked to join all other former Prime Ministers including Baroness Thatcher, Sir John Major and my good self, at the £27million extravaganza in eight days' time.
But the ex-Labour premier, who left office in 2010, mysteriously turned down the offer.
He's always been a miserable stick-in-the-mud, sour, grumpy old git even when he was young - that's why I recommended him to follow me as leader, so people would realise I was not as bad as they first thought - cunning eh?
