I have advised and promoted the Catholic Church's prescription for coping with the economic crisis - share resources and pare lifestyles down to the essentials!

Common sense in today's economic climate surely.

I'm even sending a lavishly jewelled cross and a ring once owned by Pope Paul VI to auction on eBay. Hopefully it might fetch around £560250.00 they tell me.

I may dip into the same £17 billion collection to find something else to sell later.
