This world rankings placings is a little confusing innit:

My side have played just the once since the last set of standings were released - the 2-1 victory over Italy in a friendly in Berne.

The ranking system came in for criticism after England surged up the placings, despite exiting Euro 2012 at 2012 at the quarter-final stage and were placed above teams who had gone further in the competition
