Roy Hodgson - My Fake Diary
Thursday, 30 August 2012
As England prepare to begin their journey to Brazil 2014, I already understand the curse of being the national team boss.
My experiences with Switzerland and Finland would have provided an insight into life as a once-a-month manager, with all the uncertainties of exactly who will be available.
I was at the new National Football Centre in Burton today to offer my expertise to the England Under-17 squad, who have become the first visitors to the FA's flagship coaching centre which will be the base for all Three Lions squads including the senior team from October.
In addition, I'm lending my weight to a new FA coaching bursary, aimed at encouraging more candidates from ethnic minority backgrounds to pursue careers in coaching.
Of course my main job now is to get England to the world cup... without any matches going to penalties!
