Robin Hood - My Fake Diary
Friday, 7 September 2012
I'm glad I'm not alive and living in India today, after reading this:
For residents in Binjai, North Sumatra, Junaidi, 30, is perceived as a modern-day "Robin Hood", who steals from the rich to give to the poor, but for Binjai Police, the man is nothing but a villain.
Junaidi is on the Binjai Police's most wanted list for his involvement in a number of crimes, including thefts and robberies in the city.
Police recently apprehended Junaidi, who suffered a gunshot wound to his leg after trying to evade arrest.
News of his arrest, however, has enraged many local people as they consider him their hero for giving money to the poor.
Binjai Police chief, Adj. Sr. Comr. Musa Tampubolon, said on Sunday that hundreds of people ran amok on Saturday at around 10 p.m., urging police to release Junaidi, who was being treated at Djoelham Binjai Hospital for his leg injury.
The situation got out of hand when one group of people attacked the local police station.
The angry residents later went to an Internet café, owned by Christoper Wijaya, where they set alight computers and motorcycles parked in front of the café.
Excitable lot nowadays eh?
