I was on fine form, looking forward to the Olympics (yes, I will be at the opening ceremony after my efforts involved in bringing the Games to London during my time as Mayor).
Although I admitted the only sporting event I'd be eligible for these days was "gardening" - and I was as mischievous as ever about his mayoral rival Boris.
Thank heavens for former Olympic champion Seb Coe and myself getting the games for London, now we'll see the rest of the mess this government is going to make of them!
