I was hit by an egg during a walkabout in Southampton yesterday!

I was giving a TV interview when an unidentified man walked though the crowd and slapped the egg on to my shoulder. It broke on my jacket, which I quickly, and with a touch of the debonair, removed and gave to an aide, while joked "obviously not one of my fans!"

I later tweeted: "For those wondering about egg's origins, I'm fairly sure it wasn't free range but nothing can take away from cracking result in Southampton...!

You see I can become quick witted, humorous and responsive when things are going well for my party!
