In a speech last Friday, I vowed Labour would "Get Scotland working again" after the failure of the Tories and SNP to tackle rising unemployment.

Now why didn't I think of saying the same about England? asked my three year old son Daniel.

Maybe I should pay him to go on an advisory quango for us?
