My wife Justine Thornton, a Cambridge-educated barrister, told me this morning that she thought Samuel, our nearly 2 year old youngest son, was going to be a clever little Miliband-Thornton.

He'd circled a phrase from the paper in highlighter pen: 'Crime is merely politics without the excuses!' as he chirped 'Bugger bugger bugger'

He'll be going places I'm sure!
