LOS ANGELES - NBC has announced that Scottish actor David Tennant has been chosen as the lead in a new pilot, "Rex Is Not Your Lawyer," in which he will portray a Chicago attorney who is prone to panic attacks, and therefore must teach clients to defend themselves.

No, they are not kidding.

The show is loosely based upon the memorable Indian 70's sit-com, "Gandhi Is Not Your Shaman."

Mr. Tennant is best-known for his indelible portrayal of the 10th incarnation of The Doctor on the seminal British TV sci-fi hit, "Doctor Who," and also for just being yummy.

Todd Oddbod, NBC's Vice-President For Pilots Starring Really Good UK Actors, said, "We are excited to have an actor of David's talent and appeal coming from across the Pond. We hope he has a nice swim over, as we shot our wad for the year on the Jay Leno fiasco and have no money left."

It is hoped that NBC won't screw the pooch on this one, as is its custom, having pulled the plug prematurely on decent show such as "Southland," "Kings," and "The Nine," and even borderline shows such as "The Suzanne Somers Variety Debacle," and "Law and Order, A.D.D."

Make Geneva's day - rate this story with the stars, they're just down there!
