Here I am Paris, Christmas Eve on me tod downstairs so I switch the TV to the station that is caled 'BBC Entertainment'. This is broadcast to foreign parts and is supposed (in their words) to 'showcase the best of British television'.

So at 12.30am the BBC's idea of this is The Weakest Link.

Once I actually wrote to complain about the abysmal programming and got a snotty mail back telling me that BBC Entertainment is aimed at foreigners who wish to here English spoke and improve their language skills.

The programs are on a rolling basis which means they can broadcast the minimum amount of programs over the week.

Now if I were in their marketing department I don't think the weakest link or double casualty and double holby city or East enders would be included in my list of the best of British. God help also the would-be polyglots who watch the Teletubbies.

Sod it I'm off to bed

Merry thing everyone

Lynton,

I share your misery. We have exactly that problem down here in Oz. Do you get UKTV? Sometimes, just sometimes, it has some decent drama on.

Have a good Christmas.

Sid

It's been bloody woeful.

Next news we'll have C4 bosses telling us that Frankie Boyle is a satirist.

Still, we did get Mary 'Bleedin' Poppins today.

It was actually quite a welcome change from the rest of the shite they've been broadcasting.

what was that kids programme they had on ages ago....

Title started with "why don't you........"

That's what I do. What I do is, I don't. As in don't watch the fucker unless I know there's summat good on. Or I watch a DVD or summat.

Plenty of better things to be done than stare at the goggle box.

BBC Entertainment? Well I've got rid of my TV altogether, still have radio, but that is not too good recently.

Still I have my computer, which takes up far too much of my time... but being addicted means I have to just accept it all.

At least BBC radio seven has the oldies that I liked, Hancock, Navy Lark, Round the Horne and Men from the Ministry to laugh along with, using headphones as I use the computer - if only I could remember I've got the headphones on each time I get up to make a cuppa!

Cheers all. take care.

Hi inch - you are lucky I can't remember why I put the headphones on in the first place!
