It would seem that today, countries cannot afford to be countries in their own right.
Greece needs bailing out of a financial crisis. The Afghan president and ten ministers will be telling members of the US Congress that they need billions of dollars to end their eight-year-old Taliban insurgency.
All countries appear to depend on each other for such things as financial bail-outs, assistance fighting wars, assistance fighting famine, just to mention three issues.
The obvious solution seems to be, countries - join together and call ourselves 'The World'. Pool resources. Share everything. Shake hands and let's get on with living.
