Copenhagen, Thursday. There has been mixed reaction to Rio de Janeiro being awarded the 2016 Olympic Games.
Many Olympic Games observers believe that the Brazilian city deserved the award and that it had the best bid. However, like most things, there have been some detractors.
A Spanish Olympic delegate, who did not want to be named, said that Rio will face a lot of challenges,not least of which will be transport logistics.
Brian Knowall, a urban planner with lots of experience, claims that Rio has far so many urban renewal demands that a king size imposte such as the Olympic Games will leave the city floundering. But the most telling criticism came from ace rapper, Kanye West, who once again implored the nation that "you deserve your award but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time."
Nothing better than good advice.
