Garda arrested Darby O'Gill and his gang known as "the little people" today in a raid on his farm in conection with an investigatioin into a theft ring and links to the IRA.
The Garda had been closely monitoring the O'Gill farm after allegations that he was collaborating with the well known Leprachaun theft ring known as "The little People"
Over the two months that they monitored O'Gill and his miniature cohorts they gathered hours of video footage showing O'Gill helping the leprachauns hide hundreds of thousands of euros worth of stolen goods in his cellar which the investigating officers quipped was known as "The end of the rainbow"
Far more shcking than this, the Garda also gathered evidence that O'Gill and "The little People" were more than just thieves. On one week of the investigation, the Garda recorded a transaction between the group and the IRA. The tape for this week shows well known paramilataries giving O'Gill a large case of money and the leprachauns a box of lucky charms on the first day. Over the next six days police witnessed trucks arrivin which were laden with weapons arriving at the farm. The weapons were then also hidden at "the end of the Rainbow"
O'Gill and "the little people" were arrested and charged with theft and terrorist charges and are now awaiting trail.
