Archie Craddock has become the oldest pensioner in the World to complete the Worlds most tiny and difficult jigsaw puzzle.
Mr. Craddock, 96, received the puzzle as a Christmas present from his dear beloved father, who had just returned from the front, way back in 1918.
Ever since, Archie has been busily trying to piece together the puzzle.
There were a number of setbacks: the time Archie's little brother stuck a piece up his nose; Archie's hippy heyday in the '60's when he mistakenly started licking the pieces in the belief that they were little LSD tabs; and who could forget the time he stuck a whole bunch of them up his bum!
But preserver he did, and on Thursday he placed the final piece into place and entered the history books.
"It was very complicated to do, you see?, " croaked Archie from his bedside, "the puzzle was only about the size of a stamp and it was extra difficult because the picture was that of an old man doing a jigsaw puzzle of an old man doing a jigsaw puzzle".
For completing the puzzle, Mr. Craddock now receives a 5-shilling gift certificate for the now defunct 'Charlie Chaplin Bath Soap' range.
