The Tamil Tiger has been added to the list of endangered species. The species could face extinction if the Sri Lankan government continues its military action in the north of the country.
A spokesperson for a prominent wildlife conservation group stated: "The Tiger is the most noble of beasts, but it is also the most threatened. We think we've already lost the South China Tiger, and now the Tamil Tiger faces the same fate."
When it was pointed out to the spokesman that the Tigers were in fact rebel fighters, he replied that as the Sri Lankan Government called them 'animals' that was good enough for him.
