Erno Rubik, the Hungarian who had been famous for the invention of the Rubik's cube lost his court case today when the European High Court ruled in favour of Benny Andersson of Abba fame.

The court agreed with the evidence presented by Mr Andersson, 62, which clearly demonstrated that he had filed for a patent for the concept of a 3*3 cube based puzzle long before the Hungarian version was registered.

On being asked why he had left it so long to raise this issue, Benny pointed to his busy career in music and explained that his plan had always been to contest Mr Rubik's claim once he had been able to succesfully pen the Abba based musical "Mamma Mia", which he completed in 1999.

The case has worked its way through various levels of European courts since.

Now begins a long process of reissuing packaging of all of the believed 300 million cubes sold since their launch, with the newly issued name "The Benny Cube".

It is believed that the Swedish Government will now take full control of the entire Hungarian nation, as the country does not have sufficient funds to pay Sweden the lost revenue through taxes generated on the puzzle.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
