A Qantas passenger plane en route from London to Melbourne had to make an emergency landing in the Philippines after a large hole appeared in its fuselage, and an alien spacecraft popped out.
Shortly after leaving Hong Kong, the Qantas Airways Boeing 747-400 flight QF30 flew to Manila in a mild panic. The experienced pilot, Capt Tom Skerritt, originally from Dallas, radioed for help and reported "acute pain in the starboard hull".
Witnesses on the ground reported seeing the plane veer wildly, twisting this way and that in mid-air. Next they heard an enormous groan and a ripping sound. A UFO-like creature then emerged from underneath the plane, and flew off at great speed.
One woman who saw everything said:
"It was like a demented woman in the throes of childbirth."
Her gormless friend said:
"Awww, it was lovely. I love children! I wish I'd had me camcorder!"
