Dr Robert Mugabe, the President of Zimbabwe for the last 64 years, has been announced as the winner of the country's Election after a recount of votes was carried out this morning.
It had been thought that the opposition party MDC, led by Morgan Tsvangirai had scored a landslide victory, but Mr Mugabe's supporters noticed a discrepancy in the system, and ordered a recount.
This was to prove conclusive, as, contrary to first count results which showed MDC as having polled 91% of the vote, Mr Mugabe's Zanu-PF party now controlled more than 310% of votes, and will retain control of the country for a further 20 years until the next fixed election.
Mr Tsvangirai was disappointed, but philosophical about the result, saying:
"Hide me! I'm a dead man!"
