The butt of one of the most famous pharaohs from Ancient Egypt, the boy king Tutankhamun, will be put on public view for the first time. Although his mummified body has been viewed by thousands of people, it is believed that until now only about 50 people have seen his butt.
The event comes exactly 85 years after the tomb in the Valley of the Kings was discovered by British explorer, adventurer and grave robber Howard Carter. At the time, it was believed that those who opened the tomb and looked upon the royal butt were cursed, because many of them died from freak accidents like old age.
"Ancient Egyptians revered their behinds and would regularly put them on display by not wearing any underpants", said archaeologist Johnny Arse, who got a diploma in archaeology over the Internet. "This practice of showing the bare bottom, or mun-ing was introduced by Tutankhamun, hence his name."
The butt is estimated to be worth $1 billion and will be placed in a glass cabinet in a museum in Luxor, Egypt, where it will be under round the clock guard with laser beams to prevent thieves from stealing it.
There has been much speculation about what Tutankhamun's ass looks like, though one scientist said "It's probably a bit dirty and smelly. After all, it hasn't been wiped for over 3,000 years."
