Under threat: fabled Greek antiquities

Athens, Greece - (Ass Mess): The ancient Hellenic ruins of the Acropolis are being threatened by what Greek Prime Monster Costas Karamanlis has called 'friendly fire' - "the sort that suddenly kills you when you least expect it, after you've sent your buddies an SOS for help."

Karamanlis has ordered water-bombers to douse the flames which are wreaking havoc near to the country's ancient seat of civilization.

Earlier this week the Greek government said arsonists were behind the blazes in what might be terrist acts against holidaymakers in the Peloponnese.

"Many of these tourists have fled the floods of England and sought refuge in our splendid islands only to be smoked out by fire-raising attacks.

"Another couple of weeks of this and Gorgon Brown's government will be begging us to take back the Elgin Marbles."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
