Tiny polar bear Knut was today in a state of shock after learning the origins of his unusual name. Knut's keepers let slip the truth while teasing the little bear with a bog brush during his playtime earlier today. Keeper Wilhelm Von Ostennburg shouted out playfully to another keeper "That should keep the little c*nt happy."
A zoo spokesman today said "Polar bears are very intelligent and Knut immediately realised the pun. He has eaten nothing since and refuses to respond to the name at all."
Knut's mother, who rejected him at birth said today "I said all along I'm not feeding the little c*nt. I guess the name just stuck."
Knut is said to be looking at new name possibilities with the full backing of zoo officials. Current cute favourites are "Tawt" and "Wuckfit"
