Palermo - (Rotters): Fugitive CIA agents wanted by the the Rome Prosecutor to stand trial for a series of illegal kidnappings of Italian citizens were shocked today to discover an earth-encrusted potato in their weekly sack of live hand grenades which the Mafia delivered to their secret Sicilian hideout along with the laundry.
Their 74 year old bureau chief Olga Mauriello said she was just doing an inventory of the fugitives' hardware when she spotted the spud among her customary cache of explosive devices.
"It scared the helloutta me, I can tell you", Mauriello said. "It was like somebody sending a strong, strong message to me and the boys, like lookoutta, you had your chips, we comin' to gettya."
The potato had no safety pin and was still active.
"We couldda been the laughin' stock of the CIA if someone threw this into a crowd", Mauriello sobbed as fugitive colleagues comforted her at the secret safehouse located at Villa Spooki, Via Dolorosa, San Giminigiano della Compostella, Calvi.
