A group of incarcerated zebras managed to break free from a Brussels zoo and were last seen crossing major roads in the city. Astonished Belgian motorists stopped and waited until they crossed the road proving that zebra crossings are still taken serious, sometimes.
The zebras didn't really care if motorists stopped or not, they were just enjoying the moment. One Belgian motorist, Jean Claude van Bumm, gave a TV team filming the whole spectacle the following statement;
"Normally I never stop at zebras crossing, but this time I thought it was worth it because these animals are quite wonderful and people, well I don't really give a shit!" Such is the modern day world.
English zebra crossing experts are contemplating removing the Beatles from Abbey road and replacing them with a herd of zebras because thousands of people cross there daily copying the group and local motorists tend to ignore them! However, a herd of real, live zebras would certainly remind modern, deaf, dumb, ignorant motorists why they are there (The crossing that is not the Fab Four)!
