Passengers alighting in Bejing from newly re-named flight MH-318 lynched the pilot who looped the loop in a 777 halfway into the flight from Kuala Lumpur on April 1st. April 1st having been abolished as "All Fool's Day" in China, the extremely unfunny "joke" did not raise a single laugh.
The pilot, who was said to be devastated by his impromptu hanging, had been well known for his practical jokes. A crew member who wished to remain anonymous told this reporter, "Ying Tong Diddle I Po was in actual fact, our most competent pilot. He did have a tendency to play jokes on every trip though. This is the first time he's been lynched. He would land on Auto-Pilot when the plane didn't have one, Set the engines to maximum thrust and pretend the pilots were locked out of their cabin, or curl up and pretend to be dead and stick theatrical bloodied knives into all of the crew. "
On other occasions he would ramble on about teaching everyone a lesson for the sins of the world over the microphone and put the plane into an aerobatic tailspin.
He was apparently going to be sacked at the end of his current shift, as even his fellow crew members had finally had enough.
