Police finally caught up to Mexico's most wanted criminal, Joaquín "El Cheapo" Guzmán, over the weekend. After a decade-long manhunt for the man dubbed the most penny-pinching drug lord south of the border, Guzman surrendered to Federalalis without a fight.
Since 2008, Guzman had become known for selling the lowest-class illegal drugs in Mexico and had stayed in business by making sure that his competitors diluted their supplies like he did.
One druggy, Edwardo Valdez said this: "His dope was soooo bad it took three doses just to get a buzz, man. But then, all the other dealers did the same and you couldn't get stoned for less than a week's paycheck in Texas."
The DEA has confessed that since most of Guzman's drugs are so watered down, he may only be charged with a misdemeanor.
