The intensive levels of cod fishing in the North Sea appear to be having unfortunate consequences, with cod actually attacking local fishermen! Simon Seagull, 42, from the Fisheries Ministry quotes:
"It appears that the cod have had enough. They are actually attacking the fishermen in the area. One even had a cod leap out of the water and grab him by the throat! This cannot be allowed to carry on"
Sources state that with cod stocks in the north sea reaching critical levels, they are merely reacting instinctively to defend themselves.
