Former movie star Nicolas Cage 's big public fight with his wife centered on his hairpiece, Police in New Orleans say.
Cage is free on bond after being arrested for domestic abuse, battery, disturbing the peace and public drunkenness. Police sources indicate the tussle broke out after Cage's wife repeatedly made fun of his ill-fitting rug.
The badly balding Hollywood actor is deeply in debt and has not been able to afford a natural-looking wig since 1995, when he won an Academy Award for his performance in "Leaving Las Vegas." Cage has not been in a decent movie or worn a realistic hairpiece since those days.
Cage's wife is reported to have yelled at the faded star: "If you spent just a small portion of your remaining money on a new wig, rather than on booze, perhaps you'd still have a career. Leading men should have head hair … or at least look like they do."
