It is reported today that Congresswoman Michele Bachmann has been the subject of a hoax similar to the one perpetrated on Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin when he thought he was talking to one of the Koch bothers. Although her office is officially denying the incident took place, a source within her office has confirmed that it did indeed happen.

According to the source, a call came in yesterday and the receptionist determined it was from outside of the country. The reception was poor but the caller identified himself as the chairman of a committee in the UK and Ms. Bachmann had been awarded an honor. He asked, "Could he speak to her?" The receptionist immediately put him through to Bachmann.

The source, who was on an extension line and insists on anonymity, said that the caller identified himself as the chairman of an international committee and wanted to inform Congresswoman Bachmann of an award.

"She was thrilled," says the source." He went on to tell her she had been named, 'Queen of the Bile,' which, of course, Ms. Bachmann heard as 'Queen of the Nile.' Thinking that the award had something to do with Egypt and the uprising there, Ms. Bachmann said excitedly she was thrilled and asked what was expected of her.

The caller said she would be flown to London to speak to their group and an international press corps. "Ms. Bachmann flushed with excitement", the aide said.

When Ms. Bachmann asked what the subject of her speech should be, the caller replied, "Congresswoman, you are being recognized as a leader of your country and are an inspiration to the entire world and those that yearn to be free. The title of your speech will be, "Asp not what your country can do for you, but asp what you can do for your country!" At this point, the line went dead, according to the source.

Reports state that Bachmann turned to her aides and said, "What do you think? Pretty cool, huh?" Evidently, the two aides who had been on extension lines looked at their feet, mumbled something and left the office. According to Reuters, the two were seen later in the day at a local Capitol Hill bar, totally shit-faced and in a violent argument as to who would speak to Ms. Bachmann.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
