Top Leaders from both the Democratic and Republican parties emerged from a top-secret caucus looking grim and refusing to answer any questions.
But a confidential source has revealed that focus of the meeting was a plan to postpone or even cancel the November mid-term elections.
"None of the incumbent candidates want this election to go off as scheduled, that's for sure." Said the source. "The voters are so angry at how corrupt we all are, how badly we have screwed everything up, that we are even having trouble getting volunteers to staff the voting locations. I mean it's mostly retired, patriotic senior citizens who perform that duty, who volunteer at the voting locations, and nobody want to see the voters' anger vented on them. Plus the locations are usually at schools and churches, and it would look real bad if the wrath of the voters caused them to damage those facilities."
