"Enough is enough," said President Obama when asked for what seemed the millionth time why he wasn't at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. for a Memorial Day Service honoring the country's military men and women. "I am damned if I do, and damned if it don't. Well I'll be damned if I'm gonna take it any longer," he said after cancelling his speech at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Illinois and taking refuge inside a building from a violent storm.
The administration would have you believe the cancellation was due to inclement weather, but those who were in attendance to protest his choice of cemetery claim that, in reality, there were only a few lightning bolts hitting close by and maybe a strong wind and some golf ball-sized hail, which shouldn't have been enough for him to cancel his speech.
"First he disses Arlington and the service men and women expecting him to speak there," said one disappointed retired sergeant from Baltimore, Maryland. "Then he goes to a place that is known for its summer storms. How convenient. Makes a lot of us wonder if Mr. President just didn't want to give a speech at all, and it wouldn't surprise us, being that he never served in the armed forces himself." he said.
Comments like this as well as ongoing comments about his handling of just about everything that's been thrown at him for the past year and a half have caused President Obama to wonder if the job is really worth it. "Public service my rear end," he said. "Whipping boy is more like it and I'm beginning to think that no amount of wanting to lead this country into a brighter future can make me wanna keep this up for too much longer. Hell, I could have been living it up on Waikiki Beach these past couple of years instead of listening to a bunch of whiney butts telling me what a rotten job I'm doing."
With that, the President and his family went back to their home in Chicago and refused to come out the rest of the day. A spokesperson did say that Obama is not only threatening to resign, but says he may take Biden with him and leave the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi in charge of taking care of business. "Then you'll miss me," said Obama.
