By the end of the year you could be cruising with your favorite smells thanks to a new technology that promises to give you the scents and odors you want, when you want it, anywhere in the United States -commercial free.
From space to your car.
Now, a satellite radio station is building a digital satellite radio system that will broadcast 12 new channels of commercial-free odors from floral to stinky, as well as 50 channels of national news, sports and entertainment programming.
The company promises smells from the likes of Monical Lewinsky, Eminem, and The Food Channel, as well as international odors from programmers such as the French Taxi Broadcasting Network.
The FM-6 satellite will supplement the existing fleet of satellites with a high-power geostationary satellite that beams odors into your vehicle in a matter of milliseconds. The Proton launch vehicle, utilizing a 5-burn Breeze M mission design, will lift off from Pad 39 at Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan, with the FM-6 satellite on board. Launch is scheduled for 3:10 PM EDT US 18 September 2009.
"Cable TV has proven that people are willing to pay for better quality programming," said the film director."Now they may be ready to pay for the very best in smells."
