In honor of the great senator from Massachusetts, Macy's has announced that a huge balloon of Ted Kennedy's head, made on a 10 to 1 scale, will be featured in their Thanksgiving Parade in November.
"Actually this has happened by chance in the past while Senator Kennedy was a guest here during the parade", stated a representative for Macy's. "Ted would be walking along and the kids would all be clapping like they do when a blimp comes by. The only other person that that has happened to is John Kerry."
Apparently Macy's adds a new blimp every year as it makes it's way through downtown or center town Manhattan.
In addition, many stars have been a part of the parade, usually appearing on a float. 2008 performers were Kristin Chenoweth, Miley Cyrus, Miranda Cosgrove, The Clique Girlz and The Cheetah Girls among others.
Among those in the 2007 parade were the Jonas Brothers, Sarah Brightman, Dolly Parton with two smaller balloons, Ne-Yo and Ashley Tisdale.
There will be marching bands from all 50 states plus some Broadway music performers.
Among the singers this year, they are attempting to get Susan Boyle and Adam Lambert.
However, the place of honor when the big balloons arrive, will be the new Ted Kennedy's Head!
