(DALLAS, USA) -- An anonymous member of Britain's Conservative Party revealed today that Britain's proposed Equality Bill will require the BBC to "allot radio time -- commensurate with the percentage of deaf citizens -- to feature broadcasts for the deaf."
"We are quite serious about equal time for the deaf" declared Minister Harriet Harman.
"Although approximately 7.43% of our fellow citizens are deaf, the BBC currently allocates no radio time whatsoever for this underprivileged group. This discrimination is wholly unacceptable, and I will not hear of it!" exclaimed a shouting Harman.
A measure presented in the bill would require the BBC to dedicate 1 hour, 46 minutes and 59 seconds - 7.43% of their 24-hour days' broadcasts - for programming dedicated to the deaf.
A BBC spokesperson stated that the company is working diligently to train its broadcasters in sign language, and avidly sponsoring research into how to present signing via the radio.
